Paradise Dam Improvement Project
Building Queensland is leading the development of the Paradise Dam Improvement Project Detailed Business Case in partnership with Sunwater. The business case is investigating an upgrade of Paradise Dam to ensure the dam continues meets best practice standards, including protection from severe weather events.
The shortlisted options under investigation include upgrading the existing dam and strengthening and anchoring the primary and secondary spillways.
The business case is expected to be completed in the second half of 2020.

The Toowoomba Hospital is operating at capacity in a number of areas and the hospital currently faces long emergency department waiting times and overcrowding. Forecast demand, driven by a growing and ageing population and high levels of chronic disease, is expected to place further pressure on the hospital.
