NEED

The Lockyer Valley in South East Queensland, 90 kilometres west of Brisbane, is a highly productive agricultural area. It is one of the most important food bowl areas in Australia, supplying most of Australia’s vegetables during the winter months and accounting for 28 per cent of Queensland’s horticultural production. Significant opportunities for agricultural and industrial users continue to emerge in the region.

PROPOSAL

The proposal is investigating additional water supply options to improve the productivity and sustainability of the Lockyer Valley agricultural industry supporting economic growth in the region.
